STI-ENID conference on Science and Technology Indicators
September 3, 2014 @ 9:00 am - September 5, 2014 @ 6:15 pm
RISIS has supported the STI-ENID conference on Science and Technology Indicators: “Context counts: Pathways to Master Big and Little Data”
(Leiden, 3-5 September 2014)
The conference lasted 3 full days. It was very lively gathering over 150 persons.
They discussed some 70 papers in 23 sessions.
On top of this 4 special sessions were of particular interest for our activities.
- Ismael Rafols organised a plenary session on the issues of standards in scientometrics. ENID will pursue the debate (see www.enid-europe.org for further developments).
- Stefan Hornbostel from IFQ chaired a very rich discussion on the role of – and access to – research infrastructures in our field (a specific report will be produced).
- One session dealt with the role of university-oriented datasets: U-Multirank and two datasets participating to RISIS: ETER and the Leiden ranking.
- Finally one specific session was dedicated to RISIS facilities and introduced by Matthias Weber: it enabled interested researchers to learn about the RISIS facilities (see pictures).
